From the Winery’s Blurb:

“Our winery is a place where everyone comes to enjoy international award winning wines. You are welcome to walk the vineyards and surrounding farm. You are also welcome to enjoy a picnic or snack in our quiet gazebo, or be part of the crowd listening to local artists playing acoustic guitar on the patio. The winery overlooks long vineyard vistas, an historic civil war farm house (Now Our Tasting Room), an old barn, and a beautiful pond nestled in a private valley. The butterfly and rose gardens ensure an ample supply of butterflies and humming birds in the spring and summer.”

Tasting / Visiting:

Tasting Room Hours: Open year round, Thursday through Monday, 11:00am – 5:00pm (closed major holidays). Tastings cost $6. Large group tastings in the barrel room with finger foods, $20.

Our Visit:

We visited Miracle Valley on 11 October 2010.

On the side of Little Cobbler Mountain, you can feel the peace as soon as you turn into Miracle Valley: horses grazing under golden trees; butterflies and rose gardens bordering a flagstone patio; flags flying, and an 8-foot Angel sculpture gracing the vineyards (donated by sculptor Lei Hennessey-Owen, whose received national recognition for the angels she created for the 9/11 crash sites).

Over-the-top-friendly and funny son-in-law, Larry Snowden (a dead ringer for Darius Rucker) booms out a greeting in the tasting room, an intimate space carved out of a Civil War-era farm house. His wife, Maria, wanders in with their new baby, and owners Mary Ann and Joe Cunningham come out to chat.

The small winery produces just over 1,000 cases a year, growing all their own grapes (except for the Rkatsiteli – or R-Kats as everyone fondly calls it – which all the wineries get from Horton Vineyards).
Groups of eight or more should call for a reservation.

Kids welcome; group tours available; bring your picnic; parking available for buses/RVs; private events and weddings up to 50 people. No pets, please – Turbo doesn’t like them.

The Wines: When we visited, the winery was tasting …

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, a Meritage blend, Viognier, Chardonnay and Sweet Michelle, made from the R-Kats.
