From the Winery’s Blurb:
Hidden Brook Winery is located in a log cabin surrounded by a peaceful forest, far away from the hustle of everyday life. The cabin was built by the hands of owners Eric and Deborah Hauck, with the help of their family and friends.

Hidden Brook is located seven miles north of Historic Leesburg, off Rt 15. We invite you to come and enjoy fine American wine in our Early American-style log winery. Guests are invited to relax by a cozy fireplace or on the deck overlooking the vineyards and mountains. Our gift shop and gallery features works by local artists.

Tasting / Visiting:

Tasting Room Hours: Monday – Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm; Sunday noon – 5:00pm. Open year-round, except for major holidays. Tastings cost $4.

Our Visit:

We visited Hidden Brook on 9 October 2010.

Seven miles north of Leesburg, this charming winery is housed in the woods in a log cabin the owners, Eric and Deborah Hauck, and friends built by hand in 2002. (The Hauck family dominates this little corner of Loudoun County; Eric’s parents own Lost Creek Vineyard and Winery, just 100 feet away.)

All photos from this winery

The naturalized landscaping among shady, mature pines, dotted with picnic tables, feels very Southwest U.S; truly a different feeling than every other Virginia winery, save for perhaps Desert Rose in Hume. Hidden Brook specializes in Vidal Blanc and Chambourcin – including stand-alone Chambourcins, rare in Virginia. At this writing (August, 2011) all of the wines were priced at $20 or less, making this a value find. The tasting room is also a popular event space, and the small veranda feels like an exclusive getaway.

Kids and pets welcome; snacks available; weddings and private events; bring your picnics; parking for RVs and buses.

The Wines: When we visited, the winery was tasting …

Chardonnnay, Merlot, Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve Red, Reserve White (semi-sweet), Vidal Blanc (sweet), Rose’ of Chambourcin and Vidal Blanc, Late Harvest Vidal Blanc, and Sweet Amber, a Chambourcin-based dessert wine made from frozen grapes.
