Devault family vineyards is situated on 32 beautiful acres and is conveniently located less than 1/4 mile off Route 460. It is also less than 20 minutes from both Lynchburg and historic Appomattox. Lynchburg and Appomattox have a variety of attractions that would surely keep you busy for days. While we are located near many attractions, the vineyard itself has plenty to keep you busy, ranging from a tennis court, volleyball net, basketball goal, and stocked pond, to an indoor pool complete with diving board and bath facilities. Tours are available upon request. We are looking forward to opening our tasting room doors in June 2010.

Our Visit:

Some wineries shun children, some tolerate them, and some put out the welcome mat. But the folks at DeVault bring kid-love to a whole new level.

The tasting room — a pretty, surround-sound of shiny wood — is itself surrounded by childish diversions: an indoor heated pool with a diving board and life guards, a tennis court, a basketball net, a children’s playhouse, and a swing set and sliding board. The pool house can be rented for private parties (adults or kids). There are also horses to admire and fish to be caught in the farm’s stocked pond.

DeVault is a newcomer, opening in mid-2010. Sweet and semi-sweet wines made from Niagara grapes make up most of the tasting menu, with Norton providing some drier options.

Weddings and private parties welcome.

Directions:
From Lynchburg – Take 29 North/460 East toward Charlottesville/Appomattox, turn right at VA 24/Village Hwy, take 2nd left onto Station Road.
