From the Winery’s Blurb:

At Corcoran Vineyards it is all about the wine. Our wines are created using traditional methods that enable the full flavors of the grapes to be tasted in every bottle. Limited production, meticulous cellar work, and careful selection of fruit ensure the highest quality possible. We strive to provide you with a personalized experience, enjoying good Virginia wines in a unique, boutique winery.

We encourage visits to our tasting room located just outside the village of Waterford. The tasting room itself is in a 1750 restored log cabin. We have a picnic area by the beautiful pond. There is a $7 charge for tasting, though that fee will bring you tastings of at least 7 distinctive wines. And for groups of 10 people or more the tasting fee is $10 and reservations are required.

Tasting / Visiting Hours: (from the winery’s website)

Tasting fee $7. Open Saturday and Sunday from 12-5.

Our Visit:

Be sure to follow the signs into the winery; your GPS may steer you wrong.

Small, charming and friendly, with a fireplace blazing in one corner and rustic beamed ceiling overhead, Corcoran is possibly the oldest tasting room (building) in Virginia.  The winery serves visitors in a restored log cabin that dates back to 1750.

Keep your fingers crossed that owner Jim Corcoran will be hanging around when you stop by; he’ll tell you about their second tasting room (Hunters Run Tavern in nearby Hamilton), their new brewery across the road (in-progress at this writing), their experiment in space-sharing with Cave Ridge Winery, and the limoncello and port-style wine they have in the works. Jim’s enthusiasm is contagious, you’ll want to try all of it…now!

You’ll find a few tables and chairs on the porch, and picnic tables by a pond.  Don’t forget to wander around the ultra-charming tiny town of Waterford before you head home.

Wines include Viognier, Chardonnay, Traminette, Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc,  Malbec, Meritage, and Seyval Blanc.

Winery allows private parties.
