Boxwood Villa, located just outside the quaint town of Orange, Virginia, is a lovely renovated home dating to 1891. (See before & after pics here.) Named for the large boxwoods circling the house, the villa today sports a modern, clean interior with vintage touches like tall sash windows to pull in the light and original wood shutters, doors and carved banisters.

The house is now set up for entertaining, with a circular flow through the main level, which includes a large foyer, living room, library, dining room, full kitchen and breakfast room. There's also a master bedroom and bath on the main level; four more bedrooms are tucked into the second floor. A large open space on the top level can play host to anything from a corporate meeting to a yoga retreat.

The Villa's privacy is surprising: you're just a few minutes' walk into town, but surrounded by more than 13 acres of beautiful grounds and large mature trees. There's even a 1/2 mile walking path on the property.

Boxwood excels at al fresco weddings and other special events, with a beautiful lawn for ceremonies or a meadow for the wine dinner of your dreams, catered by Boxwood Villa owner Leslie Gregg's team at The Market at Grelen. (They can also set you up with less formal catering, like breakfast scones or gourmet sandwiches for lunch.)

Nearby wineries include Honah Lee Vineyard and Chateau MerrillAnne
