Magnolias at the Mill was buying fresh & local before most people had ever heard the term locavore. In-season menu decisions are often driven by what local farmers are harvesting that day. A few of the local farms Magnolias works with are Buchanan Farms, Waterford; Shiloh Farms, Purcellville; Endless Summer Harvest, Purcellville; Tranco Farm, Berryville; and Yohanan Farm, Purcellville.
The seasonal menu works as well for local customers looking for something casual as it does for more formal occasions. On the menu, creative pizzas and burgers might be joined by a homey fried chicken pot pie, local pork shank, and an ancient grain risotto.
Local wine and craft beer are permanent features, including nearly two dozen Virginia wines and a dozen ciders and beers. (Bring your bottle of Virginia wine and same-day purchase receipt and there's no corkage fee!)
Menus for kids, gluten-free options, late night dining and weekend brunch make certain no one goes hungry.
The restaurant sits by the side of the W&OD bike trail, so bikers aren't an unusual site on the dog-friendly, park side patio.
Magnolias is also a popular place for private events, and offers off-site catering for everything from weddings to corporate lunches.
