Old friends Bill Karlson and John O’Mara opened the ambitious KO Distilling in 2013, close to historic downtown Manassas. They craft a full range of spirits at their 12,000 square foot facility, which serves both as their manufacturing plant, storage and shipping plant, and also their destination tasting room.
The tasting room is warm and inviting with oak and copper features, a wrap-around bar and cushy chairs, and a couple of big tufted leather couches next to a fireplace. Take a tour to ooh and ahh at the big copper kettles and racks of barrels where tasty treats age for years before they're ripe for sampling.
Products include gin, white whiskey, bourbon, rye whiskey, and other spirits.
And for those who've wearied of wine dinners, the distillery is also available to host special events, such as dinners with spirits pairings.
