You'll enjoy the winding roads leading to White Rock--unless you're in an RV (don't try it)--but then scratch your head in confusion when you end up in the driveway of a homey Cape Cod. No worries. This is the place.

Near Smith Mountain Lake and part of the Bedford Wine Trail, White Rock Vineyards and Brew Haus is the very definition of "intimate tasting experience," with a tiny two-person tasting bar in the sunlit room with a dramatic view over the vineyards. New owners Greg and Michele Bublitz will likely be pouring for you.

The small, family-owned winery grows six acres of vinifera grapes, including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Gris and 2 hybrids – Chardonell and Traminette. Wines include these along with some fun, sweet blends like Scarlet Sunrise and Velvet Sky, a semi-sweet red served chilled.

In 2015, White Rock branched out and became a brewery, as well, focused on the beermaking styles of Germany, Ireland, and Belgium. At this writing, they were producing White Rock Brews Jumping' Dogs Amber, Cream Ale, IPA, and Porter.

A spacious and serene veranda offers spectacular vineyard views. A large entertainment room with a billiards table, dart board and big-screen TV is a great place to hang out and play some games.
