In business since 2001, Veritas is thriving, producing more than 20,000 cases each year.
The tasting sheet is frequently long, with lots of pleasant surprises along the way, and you can avoid the perennial crowds by reserving a tasting time online. We opted for a tasting at the bar, though we could have settled into the couches surrounding
the massive stone fireplace for a self-guided tasting, or taken a seat in one
of the Adirondack chairs out front. Once
you set foot in Veritas' tasting room, though, you won't want to leave.
The vast two-story room is so full of elegant touches that
your head goes on permanent pivot, taking in the wagon wheel chandelier (sounds
goofy, but works), the crimson ceiling, the clerestory windows, the French doors
with chocolate velvet drapes framing the vast fields of vines.
Veritas has been a strong performer in wine quality, as well, and bottlings cover all the bases, from sparkling to Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Petit Manseng, and fruit-forward white blends to Claret, Merlot, Bordeaux-style blends, and the popular dessert wine, Othello.
A big event space next door is a kept busy with private events and weddings. Kids and (onleash) dogs welcome. Lunch is available for al fresco dining at the Terrace
, or bring your own (for consumption outside the tasting room, only). Reservations required for groups of 7 or more.
Veritas Winery is car-to-bar wheelchair accessible, with reserved disabled parking from which a patron in a wheelchair can access the tasting room without assistance.
On the winery grounds, the grand Veritas Farmhouse
offers six large and lovely rooms and suites for overnight stays. Large porches and plenty of indoor common areas give guests a full measure of privacy. Full breakfast, cooked to order, is served from the very reasonable hours of 9:00 to 11:00, and dinner (by reservation)
is also on offer, whether you are a guest at the Farmhouse or not.
