There's always something new happening at Corcoran Vineyards.

Since opening as a winery in 2004, owners Jim and Lori Corcoran dove into brewing some years back, becoming the first wine/craft beer combo operation in Virginia. More recently, hard cider has joined the family.

One thing Corcoran doesn't do is events or weddings, so a visit is usally an uncrowded, relaxed affair.

Lori Corcoran can often be found in the barn-style tasting room on weekends, happy to chat or answer any questions you may have about her wine or cider (the brewery is a few miles up the road in Purcellville).

The nice variety of wines include some interesting offers such as a white port-style and a Cello, styled after Italian limoncello. Corcoran offers dry, sophisticated ciders with a flavor profile somewhere between a glass of wine and a cold beer.

Don't forget to wander around the ultra-charming tiny town of Waterford before you head home. Reservations required for groups of 6 or more.
