Virginia WineUpdated June 2011.

Feels like Christmas! The 2011 Virginia Winery Guide is now out, AND the new maps are posted online.

I love the Guide. A half dozen of last year’s lie scattered around the room as I type this, including our tattered and scribbled-upon companion from the 150 Wineries in 150 Days Tour.

It’s both a list (including a short description and vitals for each winery) and also a state map. In a glance, you see that finding a winery in Loudoun County is as easy as putting on a blindfold and walking 1000 feet in any direction.  And that if you ”do” Charlottesville, you’ll need a month’s worth of clothes and an iPhone app (lucky for you, we made one!).

And, the Guide is free! Not to mention full. We now have 190 wineries in Virginia (!), including more than 30 newcomers. Here’s a handy list of the new folks, in case you can’t wait for your map.  And don’t forget to download the Virginia Wine in My Pocket iPhone app before you hit the road, for recommended wining and dining, and lodging, too!

Berry Hill Vineyard, Flint Hill, VA first appeared in the Virginia Wine Guide in 2011. Specializing in estate grown Cab Franc, we are selling the 2009 vintage from our Rustic Tasting room, by appointment only. The 2009 bottling is from a limited quantity of 62 cases. Very special and only 18 cases remaining. 2010 vintage will be bottled in March after 18 months in American Oak. Our specific site has developed a very balanced wine which is bottled as 100% varietal Cab Franc.
Look us up on our web site. We are in the Northern Virginia region, south of Front Royal.
