Va Wine logoSomething’s up.  Something big!  I can smell it, like a simple pumpkin, reborn as a fragrant pie.  Or the cork coming out of a bottle of Valhalla’s ’01 Gotterdammerung.

Virginia’s wine tourism is poised for take off.  Here’s just one little, exciting, example, brought to you by that most enjoyable of direct marketers: Groupon.

High Meadows Vineyard Inn in Scottsville, Virginia ran an offer on Groupon today, and sold 450 room/dinner packages in less than 12 hours.  Heading into November! The Inn had to close the offer down at just past noon.  With only seven rooms, they will be booked for many months to come.

I’ll have more information about this tomorrow from Inn owner Cynthia Bruce. Sounds juicy. Stay tuned…
