Day 8, and what’s interesting is how Rick’s and my inner drivers are now coming out. Or maybe not so inner, but interesting.

Rick has been getting a little edgy the last couple of days because I am dragging my feet on chronicling our journeys. By the time we drive three or four hours, navigate four wineries, find our B&B, have some dinner and get back to our room, all I want is a little bit of the Doc and a lot of the bed.

Rick, paradoxically (for Rick), is interested in our readers; according to Google analytics, about 40 people a day are checking in to see how our mini tour is coming along – so he is gently but firmly encouraging me to post each night. I am gently but firmly reminding him that I have plenty to do already, what with scheduling this thing, being the touchpoint for those winery folks who want to schedule an appointment with us, plus the B&B communications, and driving directions. Not to mention being in charge of snacks.

So, while we started with me in the role of chief scheduler and harridan, Rick’s stamina has now outlasted mine and he’s doing the picture-taking, the blog posting, handling the navigation, keeping the happy face on. He surprises me daily, if not hourly.

Today: Foggy Ridge Cider, Blacksnake Meadery, AmRhein Winery, Valhalla, Virginia Mountain Winery, and then on to our B&B in Lexington.
I’m hoping for a second wind.
