“150 Wineries in 150 Days Tour: Virginia”- Stop #24
For a map and all the info check out our page on Doukénie Winery.
Doukénie is a fun spot in scenic Hillsboro, just about 20 minutes from Leesburg. They offer an eclectic mix of special events including cooking classes, BBQs, release parties, festivals (including the popular Taste of Greece festival) and art classes for adults and kids, including interesting options like icon writing, monogramming, and landscape painting.
The quiet, pastoral scene is unmatched – the tasting room is housed in a red farm-style building, and barns and silos dot the fields. Covered patios surround the room, opening up the flow between tasting bar and tables for two with a view on a Friday night in late summer. Local (and exceptional) musician Todd Brooks played for and with the crowd as the sun set and the lightening bugs glittered against the inky sky.
